Every day across New Zealand, thousands of people rely on aged residential care.
Behind that care are nurses, caregivers, allied health professionals and wider support teams providing essential services to older New Zealanders. Their work forms an important part of our wider healthcare system – and that's a message worth talking about.
Aged care is healthcare.
Arrow Uniforms is proud to support the Aged Care is Healthcare campaign, helping raise awareness of the role aged residential care plays within NZ's healthcare system and the people who make that care possible.
Changing the conversation
Aged residential care doesn't operate in isolation from the rest of our health system.
It provides ongoing care and support for older New Zealanders whose needs can no longer always be met at home, while working alongside hospitals, GPs, allied health professionals and other health services.
The Aged Care is Healthcare campaign is about bringing greater visibility to that role and encouraging a wider conversation about the importance of the sector.
It's a simple message, but and important one:
Aged care is healthcare.
Wearing the message
As part of the campaign, limited-edition Aged Care is Healthcare T-shirts have been created in black and white, with styles available for both men and women.
Proudly sponsored by Arrow Uniforms in partnership with the Aged Care Association, the t-shirts give people across the sector – and those who support it – a visible way to get behind the campaign.
Because every shirt worn is another opportunity to start a conversation.
Across NZ, aged cared providers and retirement villages are getting involved, wearing the t-shirts, sharing their own content and challenging others within the sector to do the same thing #AgedCareIsHealthcare.
Why are we wearing the t-shirt?
Here at Arrow, we may not be the ones delivering aged care, but through our work with organisations across the sector, we see people behind it every day.
That's why our team is getting behind the campaign too.
We asked members of the Arrow team one simple question:
"Why are you wearing the Aged Care is Healthcare t-shirt?"
Their answers all come back to the same idea – recognising the people delivery care, supporting the sector and helping an important message reach more New Zealanders.
Here's what the team had to say.
Behind the shirt
For Arrow, there's another side to the campaign happening behind the scenes.
From preparing and branding the shirts through to packing orders and sending them out to facilities around NZ, our team has had the opportunity to play a small part in getting the campaign message out there.
We supply the shirts, but it's the people wearing them who bring the message to life.
Every facility that gets involved, every team photo shared and every conversation started helps give aged residential care greater visibility.
Wear it with purpose
The campaign is an opportunity for aged care providers, retirement villages, healthcare professionals, families, supporters and the wider community to stand behind a sector that plays an important role in caring for older New Zealanders.
If your team is taking part, share your photos and videos using #AgedCareIsHealthcare, challenge another facility to get involved and help keep the conversation going.
Wear the message. Change the conversation.
