New Zealand has the 7th highest incidence rate of breast cancer in the world, with 8 women being diagnosed and two dying every day in New Zealand. Yet breast cancer research receives no direct government funding - New Zealanders with breast cancer are 40% more likely to die than Australians.
These are our sisters, mothers, our friends, families and even daughters.
Arrow Uniforms is proud to announce our partnership with Breast Cancer Cure, the only New Zealand not-for-profit dedicated to funding breast cancer research. The goal of this purpose-driven partnership is to drive awareness and raise funds for the state-of-the-art Breast Cancer research projects waiting to receive funding in New Zealand.
Breast Cancer Cure has funded over $11M of research in New Zealand over 15 years. The base molecular and genetic research work funded by Breast Cancer Cure forwards progress towards curing many other cancers – as well as Breast Cancer. Breast Cancer Cure is the only not-for-profit charitable trust in NZ, established solely to support research into finding a “cure” for breast cancer by making the disease one that women can endure and survive by funding novel research.
Arrow Uniforms predominately supplies healthcare providers, including labs, medical clinics, and hospitals. With over 90% of our healthcare professionals supplied are women, this is a relevant cause that helps those who are both most susceptible to the disease as well as raising the visibility of the need for Breast Cancer research and funding to those who are active in the profession.
“We are honoured to help build awareness and support Breast Cancer Cure in their amazing efforts funding research to find a cure for breast cancer,” said Elliott Ford, Chief Operating Officer of Arrow Uniforms.
Breast Cancer Cure has a strong relationship with New Zealand fashion designers and hold annual Fashion for a Cure events to raise vital funds for breast cancer research in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Hawkes Bay.
Help support our mission
As one of New Zealand’s longest-standing uniform apparel manufacturers, Arrow Uniforms aim for a collaboration that makes the most of our roots to make eye-catching and interesting uniform apparel that will add visibility to the cause and help find a cure. Arrow Uniforms is releasing two scrub designs in pink and white colourways and limited-edition pins to affix to scrubs or uniforms, with a percentage of proceeds going to directly fund life-saving research. Not an account holder with Arrow Uniforms? You can still support the cause. $1 from every laundry bag purchased from the Arrow Uniforms website will be directly donated to Breast Cancer Cure.
We need your help to reach our $10,000 donation goal by December 2022.
