We loved reading all the nominations for the cookie box giveaway we held in December. Thank you for all the shout outs about the superstars on their team who make a difference in their workplaces every day. $6 from every Hello&Cookie box was donated to our charitable partner Breast Cancer CURE for life saving cancer research. Andrea from City Medical
“Andrea is our boss and she keeps the wheels spinning through all sorts of things that come our way on the daily!! She's always so calm and kind and takes such great care of her staff!!!”

Doug from Greater Wellington Regional Council
“Doug has been inspirational to his team leading by example. All through Covid he has been on site to ensure our facility is operational and fully functioning for our office and field staff. At time the cry of "Code Brown" has rung out across the office (signalling a block toilet) and Doug has simply rolled his sleeve up, grabbed his trusty plunger and dealt to it.”

Jess from Tranzit
“Jess is always so bubbly and cheerful. Makes everyone in the office smile and laugh.”

Felicity from Unichem Owles Pharmacy
“Working very hard in our pharmacy during lockdown and some busy times.  Renovating a house - all slowed down with lockdown and slow arrival of materials due to covid.  A long cold winter in a drafty, half built house.  Still showed up for work ready to go!”

Teri from East Coast Bays Vet Clinic
“Teri has been a superstar on our Reception desk this year and especially the past few months.  As an essential business we have worked throughout all lockdowns under tough conditions and unfortunately Teri (along with our other Reception staff) has borne the brunt of some clients high stress levels.  She consistently serves them with a smile and show empathy and kindness no matter how busy she is herself.”

Rebekah from Crofton Downs Veterinary Clinic
“Rebekah has worked so hard over lockdown and always put herself out on the line to do extra hours when staff member's family members are very ill, all while studying her bachelors in nursing. She has been very busy with no complaints.”

“Bill or Hutchy as he is known works tirelessly for the Kaikohe Volunteer Fire Brigade and FENZ IN General without any recognition. He has very little if any time off for himself as he is also the Civil Defence Officer for the Far North Hutchy is deserving of a treat in more ways than none.”

Mike from Balmoral Veterinary Care Ltd
“I'd like to nominate our boss Mike who has steered his team through a very difficult two years of Covid. He has always had the safety and welfare of his staff at heart. He has put in huge time and effort ensuring that we have excellent protocols in place so that we have been able to work safely throughout successive lockdowns and ensuring that our clients have had continued care for their pets. He is an amazing leader and we know just how hard he has worked. It'd be  an extra nice thank you for him and his family to let him know how much his efforts are appreciated by his team.”

Sandy from Unichem Davies Corner

During the lockdown months she has been a great little light in our pharmacy for our customers who have been stuck at home.”

Stuart from Wrights Drycleaners
“He puts in all the hard yards & carries all the worries of the business & does so much behind the scenes for very little or no recognition. I think my boss totally deserves a cookie box.”

The team at Raumati Pharmacy
“The whole staff have gone beyond the call of duty during the covid  era, no complaints, just worked like machines to ensure all customers felt at ease and prescriptions done asap, often no coffee breaks and lunch on the run to keep up with demand... the best team ever who deserve to be acknowledged :)”

Josie at Victoria University of Wellington
“First management role and doing such a good job in a difficult ever-evolving environment. Takes us for coffee breaks and always available if we need to chat. Management is definitely the career for her!”

Ian at Downunder Pilot Shop
“We have had such a difficult year with frequent staff absences and stock shortages.  Ian has been an amazing help and managed every situation thrown at us.  I don't know what we would have done without him.”

Laura at Icon - Te Papa
“Laura has been so dedicated in supplying the Parliament precinct with her delicious baking treats, without fail she gets up at 4.30am every morning and always has the greatest of positive attitudes, her dedication to changing all items and running special days is above and beyond. Laura would be a worthy recipient”

Caro at Heritage Lifecare
“Caroline (Caro) is the administrator of the George Manning Lifecare care home and village and has regularly gone above and beyond in her role as an administrator to ensure the stability, happiness and peace of mind of our George Manning residents. No easy task especially in the current climate! But she has still also gone out of her way to assist other care homes when they have been under extreme pressure. She has expertly juggled all that this year has thrown at her, and has kept her upbeat, optimistic attitude throughout which has been a godsend to not only the residents, but their families, her colleagues and even those of us at Support Office in Johnsonville (Wellington) that have the pleasure of dealing with her on a regular basis.
The world certainly needs more Carolines in it! I'd love to see her get even an inkling of the positive impact and effect she has on those around her, and even those of us who are actually yet to even meet her in person! She is a positive ray of sunshine that I wish more people could enjoy basking in the glow of.”

Lee-Ann at Colwyn House
“Lee-Ann is our laundry lady at Colwyn House, she works very hard to make sure our residents have fresh bedding and clean clothes daily. She has been with Colwyn for over 20 years and it would be lovely for her to receive a unexpected treat.”

Prabhjeet at TIMG
“Prabhjeet has been a outstanding worker during these unprecedented times. He has always been on his toes at the workplace and always available to help the community when someone is in need.”

Tania at Southroads
“She spoils the plumbers at her work and runs after them. They would truely be lost without her. And foleys moto is Above and beyond and thats just what she does 100% of the time.”

Marietta at WelTec
“Marietta is a Superstar over and over. Marietta is an amazing Operations Officer/boss always happy and smiling and is very supportive and goes the extra mile to help students, customers and staff. Marietta's staff are spread over 5 campuses so is a mission to see everyone regularly. Marietta has a very big workload which she never complains about - just gets on and gets the job done! It would be fabulous if Marietta received a surprise. Thank you for the opportunity to nominate Marietta.”

Sandra at Maniototo Pharmacy
“Sandra is our chief bean counter and pharmacy technician. She comes to work every day with a big smile on her face, and the patience of a saint. She's been through some tough times this year, but is always the first one to step up and offer kindness, compassion and support. She's also a very active, driving member of our small rural community, involved in the school, local drama group, Beautify Ranfurly group, garden club and more. She does most of this under the radar, and never expects any thanks - but she is incredibly deserving.”

“For being able to be an employer and friend. Being patient, generous, trustworthy. That all while being the only male in a team of 7!”

Tina at Chartwell Shopping Centre
“I have worked with Tina (she's my boss) for over 5 years and at the end of this month she leaves to take up a new role in Hawkes Bay.  Tina has been a calming influence during stressful times and a fun person to be around. I will miss her dearly! xxx”

Kayla and her team
“Kayla and her team of fellow vets nurses and Vets worked all through both lock downs looking after every ones sick and injured animals.
They never get a break some times when on call working 7 days a week if there is an emergency.
These guys work so hard to do their best for every single pet / animal that is carried in through the doors. Kayla herself adopted an abandoned 2 week old puppy that was brought into the vet clinic, and at 3 weeks old had to have a front leg amputated due to the miss treatment by the previous people. All these guys go above and beyond and this small amount of Christmas cheer would go along way. Thank you for the opportunity of making some ones day.”
